Principles of Biblical Music
“Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.” Psalm 150:6
– Biblical music begins when we, who are created by God, use the abilities and gifts that we have to serve, worship, glorify, and thank Him.
– Musical instruments are like children in a family, each one has its own personality
– Music is balanced when no single instrument brings attention to itself.
– The best music is harmony where not a single instrument brings attention to itself, but each one does its part and fills its place.
– Musical instruments in an orchestra are similar to the members in the body of Christ: each one has its own attributes and fills its own part.
– The most beautiful music to God’s ears is the music that springs from the depths of a pure heart, not from vocal chords or violin strings.
– The components of music are melody, harmony, and rhythm. The underlying factor is rhythm. The One Who gives our life an underlying rhythm is Jesus Christ.
